Heritage / Der Kriegspielers adverts and stuff

I picked up a number of Campaigns magazines from the States and some of them are full of wonderful old miniatures referencing material. These are all mid 70s. Here are the first bunch of pics......Der Kriegspielers, one of the early wargaming companies that joined Bugle & Guidon and later joined Heritage (see previous posts) ... a veritable melting pot of talent although there are many scandalous piracy rumours regarding Hinton Hunt and others (see The Old Metal Detector blog for more of that stuff....wonderful blog).

If anyone has access / a copy of the Der Kriegspielers catalogue in the below add please contact me. I would love a copy, either electronic or physical. I have the Hinchliffe Handbook, bought at the time by a rather younger me.....

and a pic of where they all ended up.....9840 Monroe Drive, Dallas, Texas. One day I will pop over there and get a pic taken with myself in the shot. One day...........

Where did Custom Cast fit in again? Custom Cast merged with Heritage or was CC the resulting company? I remember an article in one of the mags...

And I certainly remember those Der Fantastique ads. When I was a kid those the *the figures* I wanted above all. I did get a few: Snag Orcs, Uruk Hai half-orcs, some Elves and two Swan Knights among others. Sadly, the Swan Knights were horribly miscast. :-(

Good point.....I think Custom Cast were part of Bugle & Guidon or similar...I need to oil the memory cells and do some looking!

Custom cast was Duke's company in Dayton Ohio. They actually made special pieces using the same spin casting process as their miniatures. I saw a small metal turkey about an inch tall that had been produced in small quantities for a customer. They merged with Heritage Models (in 1979 I believe) and Duke, Sculptor Max Carr, and others moved to Dallas.
